What Is DACA Renewal?

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewal allows certain individuals who have previously been granted DACA to request an extension of their deferred action and employment authorization.

The renewal process involves preparing and submitting Form I-821D, Form I-765, and the I-765 Worksheet to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

Important Information

• At this time, USCIS is accepting applications for DACA renewals only
• USCIS is not currently processing new initial DACA applications due to ongoing litigation
• According to USCIS, DACA renewal requests may be submitted up to 150 days before your current DACA expires
• If your DACA has been expired for more than one year, it is generally no longer considered a renewal and may be treated as an initial request

These are general USCIS guidelines and may change.
