CNIS Immigration Services offers simple civil marriage services at our office for couples who wish to complete their marriage certificate in a private and straightforward setting.
We are notaries, which means our role is limited to:
• Assisting with the completion of the Alabama marriage certificate
• Notarizing the marriage certificate as required by Alabama law
• Submitting the completed certificate to the court for filing
These ceremonies are simple civil marriages with space for the couple and up to one guest.
Requirements to Get Married in Alabama
To get married in Alabama, you must:
• Present a valid identification document (IDs from your home country are accepted)
• Complete the Alabama marriage certificate
• Pay the court filing fee for the marriage certificate
The court filing fee is $85.
This fee must be paid in cash on the day of the appointment, as our office will take the certificate to the court for filing on your behalf.
Please note that our service fee is separate from the court filing fee.
Marriage Certificate Processing
After the marriage certificate is filed with the court:
• The certificate is typically available the next business day
You may choose to:
• Pick it up at our office, or
• Request that it be mailed to you for an additional shipping fee
How This Service Works
This service may be purchased directly online without scheduling an appointment in advance.
To begin, click Start My Process and follow the steps below.
Step 1 – Select Your Service
Click Start My Process and select the Civil Marriage Service.
Step 2 – Review and Sign the Agreement
You will be directed to review and sign the service agreement.
Email 1: After signing, you will receive an email with a copy of your signed agreement.
Step 3 – Submit Payment
You will then be directed to complete the payment.
Email 2: After payment is completed, you will receive a payment receipt.
Email 3: You will receive a confirmation email with a link to schedule your wedding appointment and complete a short intake form.
Once your appointment is scheduled, a member of our team will be available to assist you on the selected date.

Sunday Weddings
Sunday weddings may be available for an additional fee.
